Our Drop-Pin Assembly is Quick and Easy: No Tools Required: This means there are no nuts, bolts and lock washers either. Just drop the pins in their respective locations, and you're done!
We use 3/16" diameter welded steel wire in all our outdoor kennels. We could have used 6 gauge or 8 gauge like all our competitors do. If we had done that we couldn't say that Xtreme® dog kennels are the strongest kennels you can buy.
Our 3/16" welded steel wire is almost a quarter inch thick. If you wish a lighter gauge or a different size wire opening, please let us know so we can provide pricing for your custom kennel.
Wire size is important but so is the opening size. The larger the opening in the wire the fewer spot welds resulting in a weaker wire. Compare that to a wire with smaller openings, 2" x 2" for example. All our products have 2" x 2" openings. It's stronger, it's better looking and, it's just the right thing to do if you're making the strongest most secure products for very important dogs.
Roofs - Xtreme outside dog kennels have fixed pitch roofs. We thought protecting your dogs more important than an adjustable pitch roof. Our standard roof is made of 26 gauge steel sheet.
All Xtreme® dog kennels have a 3 ft. door that hinges left and opens right to left. Hinges can be placed left or right at no additional charge. If you desire a custom door size and location, please let us know. If you want your door to open left to right, click on the appropriate drop-down menu when you check out.
Schlage is a brand known for quality. That's why a Schlage deadbolt is standard on all kennel doors: The Schlage brand has been keeping folks safe for decades. The Schlage deadbolt is the only locking device we used on our dog crates and outside dog runs. We believe it is the best and most dependable way to lock your kennel. Of course, we do have locking options both keyed and none keyed. Please see the drop-down menus.
A horizontal brace at 36” up from the bottom for strength. Our standard dog run models have a horizontal strengthening brace at 36” up from the bottom.
Although the kennels you see here are gray in color they are not the current color and do not represent the current method of metal protection.
Xtreme Dog Crates has opted to provide the very best coating for your new dog run. Each of our outside dog kennels gets a quality coat of Hot-Dipped Galvanizing. We don't use spray on cold galvanizing as most of our competitors do. Here's a brief explanation of what Hot Dipped Galvanizing is and why it is the best way to protect your next kennel.
(1)Galvanizing: When the clean iron or steel component is dipped into the molten zinc (at 842°F (450°C)), zinc-iron alloy layers form as a result of a metallurgical reaction between the iron and zinc. When the material is pulled from the galvanizing bath, a layer of molten zinc is present on top of the alloy layer. When it cools, it has the bright, shiny appearance associated with galvanized products.
We've raised the bottom of the front panel by1.5” off the floor. This is for easy cleaning. We know that you want to keep your dog’s kennel area clean so we provide a 1.5” space under the front of the kennel for washing out any debris.
If you prefer to have this space located somewhere else or if you want it all around your kennel, of course, we can do that. Please give us a call to discuss.
An unlimited number of runs are available: We list a maximum of 6 runs on our multiple kennel page, however since we are both a production and a custom shop you can have as many dog runs as you want or need. Give us a call for complete options and pricing on your specific requirements.
Check out our optional doghouse cutout. It gives your dog or dogs the option of sleeping in their warmer doghouse instead of the kennel. Some dog run customers tell us they would like to put their dog house outside the dog run maximizing the space available inside the run.
We are happy to place the dog house opening anywhere on your custom kennel. Once we have the location and size of opening dimensions we can finalize the pricing for this option. Just let us know. Contact us at 800-640-1364.
